I'm having a problem with either my T.V... Or my VHS.? - horrible vhs

At the moment I saw Austin Powers on VHS. But with a terrible sound echoey sound in every single ... Does that make sense?
All sounds used by ECHO.
And just yesterday I watched JP2, but not do too ....
Is this a problem with my TV? And if so have someone with this experience and knows how to solve this problem?
I'm sure it's the television, I do not know how to make the video that ... Or VHS tape, but I do not know ...

Seriously want a little help, this eliminates the pleasure response. It's incredibly boring.
