Bottomless Pictures Why Don't Generalists And Interdisciplinary Studies Get More Respect?

Why don't generalists and interdisciplinary studies get more respect? - bottomless pictures

It seems that we are on the precipice and the blind trust (the experts, and sometimes that's good, but not always) only a few people seem to be the ability to see in all disciplines to see and appreciate the "big picture" that important questions.

We were very good to isolate the variables and the solution for them, but in the process, we often lose sight and feel powerless about important issues.

Even if the value of education is accepted very reluctantly, we put all our hopes in the largest specialist anyway.

Even here on Yahoo, people show little orange flags, they are experts in their field, but there is no recognition of the interdisciplinary effort (not a megalomaniac who wants or needs a little orange flag will be validated), but it would be cool and perhaps even beneficial if we could reward one way to find and promote thought crossing here in Y! In and around the world in general.

Your opinion?
